Where is the backup light switch located?

So you know, before they became standard in 1967, the accessory application for backup lights was usually only one light on the left side. They were a dealer installed item like radios, antenna and AC units. So, he may have one on a 1966.

Oh I forgot to mention, if it were a dealer installed item, they would have used a mechanical switch manufactured by Hella that mounted inline on the speedometer between the speedometer and the cable. If it is still there it can be found under the under the hood on the back of the speedo When the nechanism senses the cable rotating backwards in reverse, it closes the switch, activating the reverse lights. It has two wires with one attached to the fuse box and the other extended to the rear of the vehicle to attach to the reverse light.
