operating link in rear brakes

I'm trying to find out if the operating link in the rear brakes for the emergency brake has a right and left? In doing the brakes I noticed the one on the left that the top return spring fits into a small trough in the link but the one on the right sits on the top of the trough. Is this correct?

You might check out the suggestions given to me. Mine started after sitting 20 years. Search for this post "Starting an engine that's been sitting many years". Get the book as suggested it is a great resource.

Just wanted to say thanks for the suggestions. I cleaned the gas lines, replaced the rubber gas hoses, cleaned out the tank, replaced the tank filter, cleaned the fuel pump, add a fuel filter, tuned it up, adjusted the valves, changed the oil and put some fuel in the carb and cranked it and it start...

Hello all from Fresno, CA

Hi, I just purchased a 66 Beetle. When I was thinking about buying it I did a search and low and behold a site just for 66's :D . After looking thru the posts I realized this is the place to get some great advice. I've already made a post regarding starting an engine that has been sitting along time...

Starting an engine that's been sitting many years

Just bought a 66 so I am new to this forum but I did own a 61 a few years ago (ok a lot of years ago). I am seeking suggestions on how to go about starting an engine that has been sitting for many years. The car was running until the day it was parked. Nothing was done to store it so all fluids etc....
