My 1966 Kabriolett

Post by rareair »

Bought this 1966 Kabriolett in Aug 2009 for my wife. I plan on doing a complete rebuild of it with a Resto-Custom touch

Installed a set of Wolfsburg West runningboards & some German bumpers (front & rear) along wit a set of Flat-4 BRMs. Rolling gear is finished off with a 3 3/4-inch narrowed beam fitted with 15x5 wrapped in 145x15s, rears are 15x6 wrapped in 205/65x15s

So what do you have hiding under the gray tarp in garage? Love your find by the way! Very cool.

Just two more junky old VWs. One's a 1947 sedan that has been restored. The other a 1956 Kabriolett I got from Sweden. The vert is still awaiting restoration :(

Did some quick rust repair to the Kabriolett. Not really noticeable, but it bothered me. Thanks to Brian O'Kelly (losthillsguy) for the donor metal

It's been nearly 14 months since I've worked on the old vert & the wife is starting to ask questions like "I thought you were going to rebuild that car for me?" With the '11 NFL season coming to a close & spring 2012 just around the corner, I think I'm ready to really start the cars restoration. Stay tuned.....

Incredible car collection!!

Wow! Thanks for the pictures!! Did you have to do any modifications to fit your narrowed beam of 3-3/4"? It looks awesome on that very! I am putting a narrowed beam on one of my 66's, and want to go narrow as possible without major mods. Thanks!
