1966 Beetle from Malaysia

Post by pupjoint »

I got this RHD 66 Feb this year in Malaysia. Have been a beetle driver since 1995, had a RHD Zenith Blue 68. Sold it in 2005 to look for early models, but due to work and $$$, I dint manage to get any till last year. I got a RHD 70 Savannah Beige. Never was a fan for late models, so when I saw this 66, I grabbed it.

Car is solid with original floors, only had to patch the rear sections, no time for pan off, will remove the body when I decide to repaint in the original colour, but for now I will just use it as it is and take care of all the rusts first.

Pics to follow.

original colour is L360 Sea Blue, Platinum interior with the usual 66 1 off specials. ...a lot are torn and broken though... :(

missing some chrome trims, no jack, no manuals, 1 original key, ignition changed b4.

not everything is as rosy and perfect as i had wanted them to be, found an old bad accident repair. still trying to figure how this part was damaged, as there are no visible damage found on the door or heater channels?? , looks like someone punctured this part with a forklift!!!

Image

opposite part which is undamaged

Image

nevermind i got a replacement panel ready to be grafted on!!!

spoilt section removed. this part was actually bashed and cut out by previous repairers who dint bother to use their brain to repair a simple dent.
