I've always had my tune-ups done by my mechanic, but I want to try one on my own.
Can I use a 12volt tach/dwell meter on a 6volt electrical system? If so, how do I go about it? If not, where can I get a 6volt meter?
Thanks in advance for any and all advice.

Yes! you can use a 12volt dwell meter. Just double everything on the scale.
If it reads 25 on the dwell, it's 50 for your point gap.
If your RPMs reads 425, it's 850RPMs............get it?
Very simple, I asked the same question a while back. I hope this helps.

Re: tach/dwell meter
The advice above regarding doubling the dwell and RPM readings when using a 12 volt meter on a 6 volt system does not make any sense to me.
Sounds like a misapplication of doubling the dwell for an 8 cylinder meter when working on a 4 cylinder motor.
Just my 2 cents worth
