carpet

Post by exprof »

I'm looking for an original type 7 piece carpet set (in red).

Mid American Motorworks used to carry them, but they've been discontinued. Most of the ones I've found so far cost upwards of $400-500, and that's way too rich for my blood!

Does anyone out there know where I can find a good quality carpet set that won't cost an arm and a leg?

They're from TMI. Cip1 has them in black, grey and oatmeal. I've seen the oatmeal one installed, and it's not a bad set for the price. Wolfsburg West has a budget conscious set as well:

They also have a very high quality OEM style set for 440.00. If you want a beautiful carpet kit that will last, save up and get this. There's no comparing the other 2 sets to it.

I used a TMI upholstery kit. If their carpet is at least as good, it should look pretty nice.

Well, you have to pay the best carpet because you will be paying that too. Try to look for some sale then move to newly arrived. It is your chance to select the best carpet for your house.

Red Carpet

Post by Roadbug »

With new red carpet, what do you do about tha lack of a red floor matt to match the original? I think original choicesl were Red, Taupe, Black, maybe even grey. But now there is one choice that I know of, and it's not RED.

Personally I think it would look great with black floor mats. It would make the Red really stand out.

That's true, but in black and white cars for '66, everything was color coordinated in red, including carpets and floor mats, so if you want authenticity, then you need red mats.
