How to fix my spark plug boot

Im back with the 1966 bug with a 1300, i did the plugs in it, but one of the cap's screw onto plug metal peices has come out of the cap, how do you put it back in/ fix it???

its complicated, im running original sparkplug boots, the kind with the metal insert that is in the boot, you take the boot and screw it on to the spark plug end, where you would on newer cars just puch it on, the little metal insert in the boot has pulled out, and im trying to get it back in

ok got it now...I would just purchase a new set and be done with it..Don't try to repair one of the most important parts in the hot start up system.
Poor spark effects to many things...Just my two cents

if i replace the plugs plus wires, can i still use the boot cover+gasket, (make it look stock still) or will they mess stuff up

Temporarly yes If the boot will seal on that one hole sufficiently.you want your top end sealed off from the heat especially in the summer.plug wires are reasonable :)
