The front end never really felt real strong. So I removed and completely stripped down the beam and replaced the upper and lower ball joints with new german stock as well as the tie rod ends and new trw steering box, with a new steering damper. Then I went the extra step and replaced the drums ,bearings, races and finished things up with new pads...then off to the wheel aline shop...boy o boy that front end is super tight now...by the way the torque on the ball joint stems is 27 lbs...took a long time to find this out...there was a period of time before all the scraping noises where cleared up..that being the backer plate, bearing adjustments, brake shoe adjustments..
