Interior Color/Colors when the Outside finish is Sea Blue

Post by kokenfarm »

I am trying to make my "66" Beetle as historically correct as possible.
My question is, "What is the likely interior color/colors when the outside color is Sea Blue." My 1966 has medium Grey fuzzy headliner, black door panels (front and back), beige seats and the standard beige shift and window knobs. I find it hard to believe these are the correct colors for the car when it was delivered. Does anyone have any suggestions or recommendations on the correct interior color?

I think your headliner should be a perforated vinyl in white color... VW used to call it "Cloud White"...the seats should be "platinum leatherette" and the carpet used to be called "lava" color, which is a dark grey...some people define it as charcoal grey...

Siebert66 is correct! I have the original carpet in my '66 and can see how some would define it as charcoal, its pretty dark.
