Help! How to remove door/handle tight screws

Post by KKV270 »

Hi.
I need some tips/advice on how to remove the tight door and handle screws.
I'm working on my restore projects and this seems to be my biggest issues so far.
Thanks

Vice grips on a screw driver and turn as you strike the screwdriver with a hammer.

The only way I was able was to use a #3 phillips socket extension. Like this http://www.ebay.com/itm/snap-on-phillip ... SwblZZIinf

It came right out with the right tool. Casey

As mentioned a phillips socket drive or vise grip works great.
A good trick to break loose a screw is to first try to turn it in the direction that tightens it.

Thanks for the tips.
I'll be out looking for a impact screwdriver tomorrow. I will equally shop for that snap on Phillips socket.
Cheers.

Hi.
As an update, I purchased the impact driver. Fortunately the set had a philips socket (hehe- hadn't earlier known snap on was a brand name...I thought it was the socket itself)...
The job is moving on as desired.
Thanks you.
