Installing new spark plug air seals

Post by mnkytail »

I need to put new seals on the spark plug wires to close up the gaps in the tin. I can't figure out how to get the old seals off and the new ones on. Totally new to this - any help would be great.

Good morning. Pull spark plug wire off of plug. Grab plug wire with one hand, spark plug connector with other and pull. Should separate, pull off seal and replace, Sometimes you may need to trim 1/4 inch off of end of wire before reattaching. Casey

I thought that the plug connector had a threaded shaft that screws into the end of the plug wire and that you remove it by pinching the wire while you unscrew the connector.

I thought I read elsewhere that they needed to be unscrewed in some fashion. I'll give a little tug, and if that doesn't work, I'll twist. Waiting for new seals to arrive this week. Thanks!
