Hydraulic tapets - adjustment query

Post by KKV270 »

Hi.
Been a while...wow! Hope you're all well. Question! Having run on a pancake (flat 4) engine with the valves adjusted to 1.5 turns, my drive has been a drag (about 1000miles)...worst...terribly loosing momentum on hills. I adjusted the valves to 0-lash today and my-oh-my... 'Haven't I got it all back!!!'
Is there any worry with keeping the adjustments at 0-lash?? Kindly advice.
Thanks.

Just to clarify, you're working on a Type IV (bus) engine?

If you haven't read this, it should clarify any questions.

Thanks Hercdrive once again for that resource.
I've gone through it. I probably have a different issue as I adjusted to recommended in the article... It sounds right (very quiet) and drives well now...but will keep testing.
Cheers.
Oh! Yes! It is a type 4
