any problem running unleaded gas with original heads,are the valve seats hardened

Hi Matt: Mine had the original heads in her and it didn't seem to be a problem....

Does this mean I can stop using the lead replacement valve saving stuff?

Or do I need to keep using that with unleaded fuel?

Boy - I don't want to make the call on that one :shock: I think you'd be fine but if something went wrong I wouldn't want to be the one that was responsible. That being said take a read at this VW Bus forum on the subject...

We have 10% ethanol in all our gas here which I run and this hasn't caused any problems yet!If I was to put on 20 to 30k miles a year i'd install harden seats and valves.If your using or have access to a lead additive,I'd keep using it.
