South Eastern Indiana or Cincinnati??

Give your local repair shop some kudo's if they deserve it here. Please make the first word in your title line is the State (e.g.Wisconsin) where the shop is located - this will help in searching locations.

No Mechanics???

Post by Kirk »

Well, since I posted this, I have not heard about any VW Mechanics in South Eastern Indiana. Here is what I've learned since my post.

1. Working on VW's isn't as hard as I thought.
2. Big O Tires in Madison Indiana Doesn't have a VW Wide 5 adapter.
3. German engineering is quite incredible.
4. Taking the engine out only takes 1/2 hour :D
5. Tools are expensive.
6. Brazilian parts are crap :x
7. Dry rotten tires are hazardous to your health.
8. Leaky tail lights can hold alot of water... :(
9. Several different years and types can fit on a 66 VW...
10. My vocabulary has expanded.
11. Patience is a virtue :?:
12. If you need anything done to your bug, just ask, I've probably either done it or experienced it...

Have a great week!

There is quite a VW scene in Louisville, there may be one there.

Also, don't know if you still have your bug yet or not, but I really thought your follow-up post was funny.

In the end, if you can do it (garage, time, tools, a patient wife) working on it yourself is definitely the way to go.

I'm sure mine would not have caught fire had I done the work on it last.
