rare only know rack left in the world "EMPI TITELOCK RA

Just finished restoring this very rare EMPI TITELOCK RACK.In fact this is the only know one to exist.The rack was purchase from Rustojohnny a vintage Empi collector. There is a rack called the Jim dandy where there is 4 known racks. The Empi is larger and also has swing in arms.The rack is very light.Anyway just wanted to share this very exciting accessory with everyone involved with this sight.

WOW! That should be quite a head turner! I've never seen anything like it before. Geez Matt with all those racks you've almost got as much storage area as a station wagon :lol: . Your car looks great BTW! I love the mini blinds in the back window - I haven't seen those since the late 70's - how did you put those in?

Thanks John,

there are two uprights and on each one of the ends there is an adjustable
tab the simply slides into the rubber seal of the window then tighen the screw,easy take less then 5 minutes to install.take a look at the pictures.If you want one for your car I can hook you up.the blind ships out of Australia. By the way how did you make out with your motor,what was done?

Sweet - they look great.

Here's the latest on the engine: When they tore it down they found a cracked head that had been pinged so they knew about it when they rebuilt it in California (probably back in 1990) but chose to do nothing about it. The crank was still in great shape so we kept that, new heads, new valves, new valve guides, pistons, rings, etc... all stock 1300 stuff. The oil cooler was a mess so they used my old one from my last vw engine (I took them a bunch of parts in case they wanted to use any of them), and of course the seals on the cooler were as hard as a rock which is where that oil leak was coming from. It really was time for a rebuild!

They are in the final stages of assembly now, actually I thought I would get it back yesterday so it will probably be available sometime early this week. I'm looking forward to getting it back and there are some VW shows coming up in the next few weeks so that should work out well.

While it's been gone I have been putting all my time into final restoration of my 1975 xs650b Yamaha (see pic below), so I've always got a project going.

Hi Matt: I have no idea where they came from - Terry (At Burlington Import Auto) bought all my stuff :) He is listed in the links section so you could always give him a call and ask what source he uses!
