Jack options.

Post by dcarlson12 »

While doing repair of rusty floor pans, I discovered the area behind the running board beneath the rear window was badly rusted away. I replaced a section of it by welding in a patch. The bottom horizontal section was also rusted rather badly and this is the section to which the jacking 'tube' is attached. I don't know if I would want to jack the car using that 'tube'.
The car did not come with a 'factory' jack.
Therefore I am wondering what would be the best alternative to the 'factory' jack.
Would a scissor jack placed beneath the structural axle members be the best way to go? i.e. below the steel members which house the torsion 'bars'?
Thks,
Dwight
