Wolfsburg West 12V blue 9 pin emergency flasher relay

Post by elmeee »

I've connected the WW relay as shown in the Samba 1966 bug schematic. The turn signals works but the emergency flasher switch does not. When I pull the emergency flasher knob, I get a buzzing sound from the WW relay. The switch tested good so I know its good. Any help would appriciated.

I have a '66 bug converted to 12v with a stock 1300 motor, trans and stock wiring harness.

I'm not familiar with the Wolfsburg West relay, so it it 6 or 12 volt? For a '66 bug converted to 12 volts, you will need the '67 style relay.

In other words the part you purchased from Wolfsburg West is a 12 volt part and you wired it correctly.

This is one of those things that can't easily be solved in an online forum.

Yes. Wired it per Samba 1966 bug schematic. Checked and rechecked wiring. Absolutely sure I wired it per the schematic. The turn signals work fine but the emergency flasher switch quit after a few seconds.
