High Beam switch

Post by lhc66 »

I am totally lost!

When I got this car to turn on the high beam I need to pull out the hazard switch <---FUN! Put this kep shorting out my car, blown fuses etc. So have new head lights and I need the high beams back because it gets dark out here in So. AZ!

Here are the pics of my fuse block, but I have no idea how I would add switch from a 65 or earlier

So is your hi beam a foot switch or on the column? The wiring will be different depending on your answer.

What year is your car?

originally it was on the column but was broke when I got it and that's why it was wired through the hazard switch...or so i was told.

Well i think I got this about sorted out. I put in a sealed toggle switch and I have everything working now. I want to put the toggle where the emergency switch is. How do I remove the switch? I got the knob and shaft out but I can figure out how to get the rest out with out destroying it.
