Welcome Jacob! This is a great place to get help with your VW questions. Especially if it's a 66... I hope we can help...

New member here -

Short of a VW birth certificate - what are some of the other visual clues that would indicate a 'Euro' bug ?

My SeaSand sunroof bug has lockable steering / ignition switch on column but everything else looks like other 1966 bugs I've seen.

my door handles have the square buttons instead of the round buttons. I have a euro sunroof 66 shell and it also the square buttons but Im not sure if thats a real indicator.

I got my Birth Cert back and Sherman is indeed a Euro bug (delivered to Cologne, Germany), and on a separate sheet they confirmed that my engine # is the original 1300 motor.

I'm pretty happy !
