Interior for Convertible

Post by netgamegirl »

This is my first post to this site and my first Beetle, so please be kind to what may be silly questions.

I am not concerned with getting the car back to the original factory colors that are listed on the birth cert (which is most likely a black interior as I am still waiting for it). I am interested in ensuring the color combinations are period correct.

I am basing my interior "facts" on the color combination page at WW (http://www.wolfsburgwest.com/colors/66combos.htm).

Carpet: I have a Ruby Red convertible and wanted to get the 10-piece carpet kit from WCC. The original color combination based on the WW site is "Lava". At WCC, they have Medium Gray and Charcoal. Which carpet would be more correct for this car?

Seat Covers: I was looking at Platinum which at WCC is Madrid White. Is this correct? And are the seats "basically" correct (I have heard the stitching isn't quite right, but was thinking about the overall look)?

Door panels: I wanted to clarify a few things about the door panels, I believe this is correct (based on other user postings) (Note that Lenny has updated the door panels to not have as many horizontal lines at the top which apparently was not correct):
-Driver door does not have an arm rest
-Passenger door has an arm rest
-Since it is a convertible, both sides have pockets.

Thanks for the help!
