Which AC

Has anyone put AC in their Bug and if so who did you get it from and what was the experience? Also, how does it all work?

Well I called Gilmore out of Florida and will get the AC from him. It will cost about $1400 for the same (looking) unit that my 66 came with installed by the dealer. He is a few weeks out but should be able to get it all together. If anyone knows of a better kit that is more reasonable let me know. Not that I selected the AC, I can weld up all the holes in the trunk deck/cabin partition and then cut new holes whn then new AC comes in. Funny, I paid $650 for this bug 31 years ago and have about $2500 in this restore so far. I expect to have spent about $5k when done. But, everything will have been done right. That means it may last another 45 years. I know I won't. LOL
