door alignment

I'm not sure if this question has been asked before, so I'll ask.
The doors on my bug are sagging, how do I fix this problem ? Also how do I raise my car to the original height ? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
thanks.

are your hinges worn out, or loose? Sagging doors can be a bunch of things, from simple "someone messed with them and they need to be adjusted, to the mounts failing or being bent. Can you take some photos?

As to raising it to stock height, is the suspension drooping, or has it been lowered? Again, depending on what the situation is, there are different ways to remedy the situation. Sagging or drooping suspension can be fixed with things like replacing shocks and worn out components, and generally is pretty easy. If the car's been lowered, the method used when lowering it will have a huge impact on restoring it to stock height. It can involve replacing quite a few parts and resetting the suspension geometry. That may sound daunting, but it's a weekend's work with hand tools and a buddy.

Thank you for your response. It appears that the hinges are worn out.I'll
post some pics as soon as can. The other question, the car has been lowered by a previous owner. The bottom is about 12 inches high from the ground. I'm not really a fan of the cal look. It breaks my heart when I saw a 1958 butchered to make a baja.

Well, its always sad to see cars we want, turned into things we don't like. A lot of the baja bugs were simply done because of some parking lot mishap and they saw it as easier to cut things off than repair them.

... The bottom's 12 inches (a foot) off the ground, or is that a typo? My owners manual says at stock ride height, I have 6" of ground clearance, and the overall height of the car is 4 foot 11 inches. That's what Everett's says too...

That'd be based on a 165/80 R15 tire, which is as close to a stocker as you can typically find anymore.

Get yourself an angle finder and see how off you are on the rear end. Here's what the numbers should be for a stock ride height:

Again, if you can find some way to post pics, it's help us understand what you're facing.

My bug is 10in high. For some reason I thought that it should be higher.
Some of the bugs that I looked at were taller. here are some pics of both doors and left side.
