water in gas? carb adjustment?

oki saw water in my fuel filter so i added some dry gas product not sure wich brand from gas station.well ive had this single spudder everynow and then for a while, now its worse , just like having alot of gas in the water ...............wouldnt start for two days get it started ansd then t dies when you drive and wont start again then not startin at all so i decide to check for spark and removed the coil wire, it started with a gap of about 3 inches couldnt believe it.... so i adjusted the carb(solex) and it runs but not the same as before almost tho, can anyone help me figure out what this cause was that is if it wasnt water, i only think thiss cus adjustin the cab seemed to fix it. does it go out of adjustment on its own often?
