Big Red Emergency knob.

Post by Fairhope 1300 »

I bought my 1966 1300 new when my son started to school, 1st grade. Drove it until he was 16. My son then drove the 1300 finishing high school then through college returning the car to me. The VW had 150,000 miles on the motor so I had it rebuilt and painted the car the same color. I still drive it today and I keep it like new. It has always been under cover with same floor mats, seat belts, head lining, all rubber, 6 volts etc.

Amazing - I'd love to see pictures of it (inside and out). I don't think there are many folks out there that were the original owners of their 66 beetles. Welcome to the Forum!

That's so cool. I'd love to see pictures. Turning it over to a 16 year old must have been traumatic. Is there another one in your son's future at some point do you think?
