ok i am replacing the old brakes on my 66. its leaking from them and they are really really old. so i bought the new system but i am running into a little bit of a problem. getting to the brakes is not going well. there is a big nut on the outside of the drum and i can not get it off. i removed the cotter pin and used everything from a brake bar to an impact wrentch. all four are just not budging. it looks like i am going to have to go to a garage with more tools and pay some one do do it for me. i really dont want to do that. any suggestions?

those rear castle nuts are torqued on to about 230 foot pounds. You're going to need an air impact that will do that much. They should come right off.
As An alternative, I'd start off by thoroughly soaking them in some kind of penetrating oil (like PB Blaster) overnight. For the fronts, there's an allen head screw in the clamp nut. Loose that, and you should be able to back the fronts off with zero difficulty.
On the rears, a 1/2" breaker bar in a 3-4 foot section of metal pipe should get them busted loose. If your wheels and tires are stock, do this with the tire on and the car on the ground. Set the parking brake if it works. You don't want that wheel to budge while you're trying to get the nut loose or it's going to be brutally painful to get them off.
Remember, safety first.
