Restarted my project recently after a year sabatical away from all things VW

Heres a few pictures of my work progress so far.

Floorpans welded in and taped up prior to sealing the seams

Both pans welded in and sealed up. Just the underneath to clean and seal now and then the chassis will be off to the workshop for etch priming and painting.

New ball Joints fitted to the torsion arms and wheels fitted with new bearings. Also a picture of the finished beam that is now ready for installation when the chassis comes back from painting.

Front wheels refurbished with new shoes and brake cylinders

Stripped down the gearbox for inspection/clean and then reassembled it fitting new bearings and seals all round, Oh and a new pair of NOS VW half shaft boots. I then painted the gearbox with some silver Aluminium paint

More updates when the chassis is painted and rolling.

Thanks for looking

I managed to finish painting the chassis last night with two coats of VW jet black and a laquer coat. Its a bit over the top for something thats going to be covered up in sounproofing and carpets I know but hey, it looks good.

Big build up begins on Friday when beam, brakes, gearbox, suspension etc get fitted. (I cant wait Progress at last)
