Exhaust Valve removal - Help Please

Hi guys. Can anyone help pse. I am doing a valve job on my 1493cc beetle engine. The intake valves slid out of the guides easily, but the exhaust valves wont slide out. They will turn/spin in the guide but just wont slide out. The tight point is just below the keeper ring area on the valve i.e. the diamater is greater than that of the glide. I am relucant to drive them out. Any help will be appreciated. thanks. Richard

do you have a machine shop that can install new valve guides? You need them! Let me know Matt
