engine cover stuck

Post by Australian1966 »

my mate was looking at the engine and carelessly just dropped the engine cover instead of lowering and turning the handle. now when i try to open it it seems to be grabbing on the right hand side of the engine cover about half way up. im really hoping it hasn't snapped a hinge or something.

any help would be greatly appreciated.
thanks
Simon

Glad to hear you got it fixed, those covers can get out of allignment pretty easy if they are torqued the wrong way.

All German-built '66 Beetles had a pushbutton catch on the engine lid. In Australia, Volkswagen built the '62 model right through '67, so unique 1966 attributes don't apply down under.
