seat belts

will be installing aftermarket seat belts (no shoulder strap) in my 66. WW says up to 65 you need bolt plug adapter. JBugs says up to 66 you need them. Which is correct???

'66 Fronts you don't need them, you should have a spot on the tunnel and the floor for them.

Rears, I honestly don't know. I haven't installed mine yet

My understanding is that it was an option. '66 should have the holes, but may not have the belts depending on teh trim of your particular car when first sold.

My 66 has lap and shoulder belts with the VW insignia so I'm guessing they are factory installed. Were there female threads factory installed on all 66 VWs?

Yes, '66 had seatbelt mountings front and rear, including shoulder, and most '66 cars came with lap belts installed at the delaer's.
