Front brake will not release promptly

On my 66 bug, which has set for a while, the left front brake will not release promptly after being applied. All other brakes quickly release but the left front hangs on for a few seconds, which is causing that wheel to lock up. I have rebuilt the wheel cylinder and the master cylinder with the same results. I also have new return springs on this.

Any ideas? Thanks!

I wonder if you need to replace the cyclinder (even though you have rebuilt it)? It sounds like a cylinder issue to me.

Do you mean wheel cylinder or master cylinder?

I was thinking wheel cylinder. I would think if it was a master cylinder the issues would be more widespread.
