? electronic ignition - any thoughts?

Hi there,

i have an original vw distributer, the engine runs great but after a really long journey (300 miles) i had to re-set the points gap on the distributor because it wouldn't start.
Does anyone have any thoughts on whether or not i should change ny distributor and get an electronic ignition kit?

If your distributor is still in good condition (wiggle the shaft to see if there is excessive play), a simple bolt-on electronic ignition like the "Ignitor" will do a really good job - no more worries about the points.

sound like your distributor shaft or bearings may be worn where the dist cam walks from one side to the other or your points may be getting hot to change your point gap.either way electronics should do the trick.
