England calling Hi everyone

Post by Mudpuppy »

Hello to you all
I am the proud owner of a 1966 ruby red Beetle
Which I bought about ten years ago it has only done 43000 mile from new
and comes with the full service history
green log book and some history
I have been bringing her back to life over the last ten years
And now feel she is in a fit state to be photographed and shared to all
She will not be finished for a while yet and I have been saying that for 10 years
No rush. no fuss. thats us.
will try and add some pictures if I can
Bye for now

Hello, wow only 43000 original miles, thats 1000 miles per year cool 8)
Looking good would like to see some more pictures of your Vw.
I am also restoring my VW a pearl white and it looks to be a long road, as I would like to do all the work myself.

Hi
Doing all the work yourself is a fantastic feeling but it seems to take forever
The first bit of kit I bought was a grit blaster and a 3hp compressor
and set about striping out all of the old paint from the underside
this was the worse job i have ever done to a car but the finish effect is making the car look new
Plus you can see all of the holes that are not meant to be there
It got rid of all the tar from under the sound proofing from under the carpets and strips paint faster than look at it
