i am having problem keeping my brake lights to stay on. I have cleaned everything all connections are pluged. I have blinkers working but no brake lights also fuse box was checked as well.and new bulbs . I bought book how to keep volkswagon alive and when you get to part of brakes it says you are on your own cause his wont work as well. Please shoot me some ideas!!

Hi Hopper: Go to the main site www.1966vwbeetle.com and open the wiring diagram (it's a button on the left side of the screen), make sure all your wiring is hooked up right. Also - have you checked your Brake light switch - that may be the problem! Good luck to you - electrical issues are a pain! John

hopper:
Do you have a generator? Sometimes you will get back flow of current which will effect the light switch.I would change the brake switch
