oil pressure relief valve

Does the 1300 have the slotted O.P. relief valve or the solid type. I've read the 1300-1500 did till the dual reliefs came to be, but can't find a definitive answer. The car is a '66; by the numbers it could be the original.

They were solid originally. I believe the grooved ones started in 67. I have 2 stock 1300 engines (and 2 66 Java Greens!) and both have a solid valve, no groove. Casey

Thanks 1300; I knew someone here would know and your user name qualifies for sure. The motor is still on the bench and when installed I'll be better able to remove that stubborn relief valve plug and check it out. A PO installed 1600 P/C's and who knows what else. Java green is a great color and I'm very happy with it. And you have two; congrats.
