Aussie '66

Post by morts »

Hi everybody

I stumbled across this forum while looking for info on a newly acquired '66 beetle so I thought I would put up a few pics.

After sitting for 13 years it started up okay. All fuel hoses have now been replaced and the entire braking system too. Just have axle boot seals to do before a shakedown run.

Lookingto take it on a 2,000 km road trip in April  8)

Welcome. A nice find. Is it an Australian model?

Yes, it is an Australian built 1966 that was built sometime between March and May of 1966 as it still retains the old style headliner.

Not to rain on your parade ...but ....2,000 kms? I'd have a backup plan, for sure!! Good luck!!
