Engine Assembly Lube

Post by mnkytail »

I was given a discarded 1600 DP motor that was lying around a garage. Case, crank and cam on it looks good now that I've torn it down and inspected. Getting ready to reassemble. This is my first time and was wondering what kind of assembly lube I should use. This is really just a fun project to learn with and the engine may sit awhile before installed into the car. Thoughts?

This is what I used. Worked very well. And it is cheap. Casey

Sweet thanks for the suggestion. How different is this compared to Lucas assembly lube? Any idea?

I have not used the Lucas, but this stuff is thick and stringy. It is almost like grease when temperature is cool. I clings to whatever you apply it to.
