intake manifold gaskets (dual port heads)

Post by KKV270 »

Hi.

I have noticed for a while that I have minor leaks via the manifold-head mating point....no matter how tight I try bolt the manifold down with the metal gasket in place. When the engine heats up, I end up loosing my idle (I believe the area expands creating a vaccum leak.

My question is, will paper gasket be a good be a good alternative? This mighty not get affected by heat.... What other remedies may be available?

Thanks.

there are fiber gaskets for dual port intakes and can be stacked as needed. If the metal, stock for the 1300, are not sealing, the manifold must be not seated and being held up by something like the sheet metal. Check for obstructions and fitment of the manifold cleanly against the head or you will never get a clean seal.
