Hello, I just found that I have a 1967 Solex 30 pict 1 carb...Not a 1966!
Electro-Magnetic Pilot jet valve ( Idle Cut-Off ) This was Introduced in 67 Not 66. its a 12 volt part that stops the Fuel Flow once the Key Switch is Turned Off...Anti-Dieseling Device.
My Question is: The Engine Runs Great, till the Valve Stopped working!
I don't want to buy a New Valve for this carb.
Can I remove it and plug off the Port?
Or, do I have to Buy a Brass Jet for a 1966 Solex carb, and will it fit?
That's The Big Question? and my Issue!
Any Feed Back will be Great!

Idle Shut Off Valve..
Thanks for the Reply, I totally understand what your saying. But, if the valve is in the closed position? I still will stop the Fuel Flow?
0r...When you cut it apart, you remove the inside moving parts, Plunger?
and reinstall it, so the end fuel port is open?
Thing's that make you go...Ummmmm?

Cut Off the Tip of the Valve, and use the Body as a Plug!... Lol
Thanks Again...

Yep. That's basically what I said.
The valve actually works in reverse. It's off when the engine is on.
When the ignition is switched on, the valve holds the plunger open. When the ignition is switched off, the valve lets the plunger close, which cuts off the idle. If the valve stops working, the plunger stays closed and the engine won't run.
But don't think because your year engine didn't come with one originally, that it shouldn't have one. Customers complained for years about run on, and nothing the factory did fixed the problem until they finally installed the cutoff valve, which cuts off the fuel.
One other note. I mention a plunger, but that may be on later cutoff valves, Your 30 PICT has the tin can type. But the principal is the same. You want it to stay open.

I have a 55 idle jet in my 30 PICT 1. You can get them here for not much... http://www.amazon.com/BROSOL-SOLEX-IDLE ... B00FB8165E Casey
