Engine no?

Engine number in my beetle is C9 01 16P.
Unable to find any info on that sequence. Your help is greatly appreciated.

Not too sure if the engine serial number info on theSamba website applies to Australian vehicles, but, if your engine number had an "A" in front of the C, it might be a 1970's 1300cc low octane engine, or, without the "C", it might be a VW industrial engine from the early 1960's.
