Florida Beetle

Adopted from the Blue Baron. Rusty came from Canady Motors in Tampa and will now have a full renewal except for the patina paint.

This is a car that I rescued from a junkyard seven or eight years ago. The goal was always to see it back on the road one day (and ride in it) and it looks like that goal will be met. :!:

Thanks for posting the pictures. Looks like a solid car and still very original, great find and rescue. Glad to hear there is another 66 in the neighborhood.

This car has always lived in Florida, and spent most of its life in a junkyard in Plant City. (It was hit in the right front wheel.)

While the car is decently solid, it is getting a pan-off refresh. The new owner's plan is to restore the chassis and running gear and leave the body looking distressed, and I plan to stay involved.

Car at home in its new garage in Bradenton, the first time it's been out of the elements in 30-plus years.

Will you be taking Rusty to the VWs over the skyway this year or any of the upcoming meets? Glad to know another 66 is on the road in the neighborhood.
