Here's the story of our first bug.

On 2 june '66 the 1200A was bought in the Porsche Garage in Wiener-Neustadt in Austria, at that time owned by Louise Piëch and it has been in the same family untill 2007. It was used until 1998 when it was parked in a barn.

In 2007 it was sold and went to the Netherlands were it had a little make over and was rolled in primer.

In february this year it was bought by a guy in Belgium who we bought it from. We have contact with 3 of the 4 former Dutch owners and got some great stories of the bug.

One of the owners told us the family who owned it in Austria are related to the Porsche-Piëch family and when it was in the barn it was home of mice (which show on the interior).
As it's part of the car's history all owners decided to keep the interior as it is.

At the moment I'm sorting the electrics. It has been converted to 12V and the one owner I didn't located made a mess of it.

The bug has a little over 34k kilometers from original altough it's on it's fourth engine.

The original engine was frozen solid from standing for 10 years. One of the dutch owners had it on a shelf for years and sadly took it to the breaker a few months back. He will contact the breaker to see if it's still there. I hope it is so I can restore it and make the car a matching numbers again.
