New 66 owner in the uk

Post by Junglemod »

Hi all
Just purchased my first 66 .had a few bugs before some earlier some later .
Came across this forum so being a specific 66 one decided to add myself and keep you posted on the car .
I recently purchased it with only 59k from new on the clock , it has not fared quite as well as if it was a Californian 59k car but faired quite well for a uk roads car .
It's had some paint over the wings ,lower door edges etc but still looks great overall in Fontana grey . Still has the og 1300 engine and runs like a Swiss watch . Steers like its power steering with no pulling or effort to move definitely one of the tightest bugs I've ever driven .
Hopefully a pic attached below

Very nice car. I purchased a '66 Sedan in February and have really enjoyed driving it.

Does yours have the flasher? If yours is a European model it would not have come with one.
You have a great looking car.

I'm pretty sure my new 1966 Beetle had the emergency flasher.

That's a beautiful car. I love the way the UK plate fits the shape of the decklid.

The original owner had a 12 volt 2 speed fan installed inside the heater tube under the back seat. It works pretty good but I think I will be removing it.
