Hi - about to buy a restored 1966.

Looking at a restored 1966 Beetle this weekend, have looked at car before but owner wasn't ready to sell. Now it's in an estate sale. Probably going to need some tips from this site - any 47 y/o car is bound to have a kink or two!

Lots of variables. How familiar are you with older VWs? How thorough was the restoration? How accurate was it? How long ago was it done? What needs fixed? (Condition of tires, engine's condition, electrical gremlins). Is it still original? (6 volt, 1300 engine case, original color)
All of these will effect the value.

At a minimum....
Look for hidden rust.
Drive it.
Make sure the body # and chassis # match.
