Check out this oddities i fount on the net, coming from Down Under, maybe Zorba can clear this up to us, suppossingly, some government law forced pre'62 beetle owners to change the tailights to amber red/ taillights, and VW produced this funky parts as a replacement, check it out

I know the European Beetles in 66 had the amber lenses but they didn't look anything like these - very unusual look to these! Interesting!
