Shifter Rod Bushing Alternatives

Post by culpyy »

Does anyone have any alternative to the standard shift rod bushing. The groove that sits in the ring appears to be very thin and easily worn.

I was wondering if anyone has used the shifter mount box for the sandrail in type 1 beetle as a fix.

Refer to attachments.

Obviously the shifter box would require altering the tunnel and some welding but the durability would be worth it.

Thanks in advance!
