After you strip the top end junk off, 1300/1500/1600/ and beyond all look the same from the outside. It's very difficult to judge whether or not it's still a 1300 without pulling it, pulling a head, and measuring the bore and stroke on one of the cylinders. The general lack of availability for 1300 ...

I remember reading an article on this and it had codes in it, but I can't for the life of me find it now. Unless you're going for a complete 100% cou...

Lots of changes for Federal safety regs in between there. In general, I think it should all fit, provided it's a 1973 standard and not a super beetle. If it's a super, everything is completely different. You'll probably want to use your earlier steering column and whatnot and make sure that everythi...

Eliminate some of the simple stuff. Crawl under and look at your trans mounts. Do they look like they've been on the car for 40 years? If they're done, you'll get vibrations at certain ranges. Next, check all your tins and make sure they're secured. Check the shock bushings. Check the rubber body mo...

.015? Yoikes! Waaaaaaay too loose. .006 intakes and exhausts. That's part of why they're so chatty, and definitely part of your power loss as well. Also, your diagram has cylinder positions swapped. 1 and 2 are passenger side of the car, 3 and 4 driver side. If you have factory cylinder head tins, t...
