parking light
I was checking my parking lights last night and when I pulled the switch, the left side did not work. I "thumped" the headlight bucket and the parking light went on, and then promptly fried the wire. Any idea what would cause this to happen?? I have had them hooked up for months and never ...

I got new visor clips and it appear the inside (near the rearview mirror) posts are a little long. Are these just plastic?? if so, I would think that I could use a Dremel and cut them off a bit.
any thoughts??

I agree about the high backs. rebuiliding the seat is a pretty simple job. Get the DVDs from Cal. Pacific/JBugs and they walk you right through the steps. I just did mine and they look great!

the seats from the new beetle should fit. I bought my 66 and it had newer high back seat in it when I got it. I gave them away and found some low backs locally. They are expensive to ship so local is the way to go if possible.

will be installing aftermarket seat belts (no shoulder strap) in my 66. WW says up to 65 you need bolt plug adapter. JBugs says up to 66 you need them. Which is correct???

headliner
Got the headliner installed this afternoon. all things considered, it looks great!! Is it picture perfect, no it isn't. But it looks pretty nice, I think. If I had to do it again, it may be best to wait until it is warmer, but it didn't make much difference, really. Like others, I did have some prob...

Matt, I forget: on the "pop out" windows, do I cut the rubber seal (window to body) seal to install??

I am replacing the window to body rubber seals.
They come in one piece. Are they cut to install or are they installed in one piece. The latter appears difficult if not impossible to do.

Matt:
would you recommend a crushed grain vinyl vs. a perforated vinyl for the headliner?? wouldn't have to worry about the glue seeping through as much. I can easily return the one I have and exchange it for the crushed vinyl.

finally got them in. Had to take out the wing windows to make sure the upper part of the regulator fit behind them. What a job!!! work pretty hard though so I suppose I'll have to fiddle with them to make the windows work easier.

fatalifeaten: they look quite different but the glass, which I have for the regulators, is the same size.
If the crank mechanisim fits and the other mounting bolts line up, it just might work with the later glass and the later regulators.
nothing to lose by giving it a shot.
