I'm coming into the possession of a 66 in a few weeks. I will have the same decision ahead of me. Did your car function right out of the blocks. My future car has been sitting for quite a while and I don't want to cause any unnecessary damage. It looks pretty solid from a quick review.

The classic bumpers and the beautiful headlights with the cool parking lights embedded into the light compartment. Nothing cooler than running around town with parking lights only just before dusk. The car looks so sweet!!

How did you come to become acquainted with Buddy? I'm hoping my little 66 can look as good as your Bug someday. Looking good!!

Well the date of the rendezvous with the little red 66 is coming into focus. The second week of June. I'm investigating the best way to trailer from Rockford Illinois to Cleveland Ohio.

Hi I'm preparing to trailer the Bug from Rockford Illinois to Cleveland. how long and wide is a bug. The wheelbase is specd but not the length.

Does anyone have experience or have heard of anyone adding a stock sunroof to a bug. I had a sunroof in a 65 beetle I owned years ago and it was really cool. I just know that sunroofs can be tricky beasts with leaks etc.

Thanks Matt, I'll give those options a try. Autozone...really? It appears that some owners prefer to convert their bugs to 12 volts. Not exactly the purist route.
