Looking forward to seeing pictures of the restored car. Best of luck to you.
Mine is also just in to have a body restoration. Slow process here but looking forward to a brand new coat of paint and getting rid of the rust.

Hope you found your Sapphire 3 radio. There are a few being advertised in Samba now. Most of them are untested but occassionally you can get one in good working condition. I have been buying from Samba for the past 3 years and its a great site for VW parts esp when you want OG ones. I have just also...

I run 25 psi. in the front and 32 psi in the rear. Not sure what the metric converson is. The Bentley Official Manual recommend front 16 psi (1.1 kg/cm2) and rear at 24 psi (1.7 kg/cm2) for 5.60 x 15 tires. Obviously using radial tires we should increased the pressure but by how much and are the on...

Hi Fauzy, welcome to the 1966 VW Beetle Forum. Good to have another enthusiast from the Far East. Join in the discussion, share your joy and your problems and have fun here. Nice car you have. As mentioned by John, the paint work still looks pretty great, certainly better than most cars I saw in the...

66 Flasher Switch
I spent some time looking out for a flasher switch too - mine is a rhd uk spec, so didn't have one fitted as factory - just wondering what the best position for it would be. Any ideas? The 66 Flasher Switch (looks like a red bullet) is certainly becoming scarce. I bought a good piece in Oct 2007 fo...

I have not done a post in the forum for quite sometime as work has been extremely busy and my other project is giving me a handful. Yes the car has an original 1300 cc engine and has an airconditioning unit. This came with the car when I puchased it which I subsequently upgraded to its present state...

Thanks John. I have been trying to get an original used parts if I can. Been watching Samba but have not seen any of this being advertised. Maybe most of them have been discarded and owners now prefer better and more convenient system. I prefer the original style and if one workable comes along for ...

Windshield washer Valve
I am looking for a windshield washer valve that connects to the spare tire to pump water that cleans the windshield glass. Saw a car having one label as Helphos Washer. Certainly our 1966 should have one but mine do not have this when I bought it. Any help from you buddies out there will be most app...

Ballast resistor
I have seen so many (including mine) cars fitting a ballast Resistor near to the coil while pictures of cars in your country does not show this to be the normal case. The mechanics say that without the resistor the coil will be too hot and there will be overheating. Are we doing something wrong or i...
