hope all is well. If you are not on a dog house set up I would not use j tubes.
that # 3 cylinder is really going to heat up...just the shear fact that the heater boxes has mass pulls heat away.If you want to install a fan then thats a new topic...

never never use Synthetic oil in a bug read up on some of my posts

I would suggest also to wipe down every thing with thinner and swipe all the surfaces with aviation sealer not heavy this will hold you for a couple of years

when it come to problems with the wiring harness it is always best to completely remove and install new...the 1966 system is soooo simple. why struggle with problems...when you start finding wires with green mold and dark brown contacts....clean it all up...just my two cents been there and done that...

using a large bolt, that was about 10 inches long. i screwed it in the broken piece with a wrench after sticking it through a metal bar with a hole in it. tapped the metal bar upward with a hammer and it still pulled the bolt out, i even tried heating the area around the piece in the case a little t...

when you say broken,do you mean that a piece of the plastic fuel rod guide broke off into the engine or is a piece just sitting in the bottom of the seat. very hard to get out if that is the case.let me know..
